PDD Holdings, the parent company of e-commerce giant Temu, has implemented an AI-driven solution to address copyright infringement in greeting card designs. The MOVE follows pressure from the Greeting Card Association after independent designers reported thousands in lost sales due to stolen artwork appearing on the platform.

The new system creates digital fingerprints of original designs, automatically blocking unauthorized copies before they reach the marketplace. This technological intervention aims to resolve what designers described as a 'whack-a-mole' battle against counterfeit listings.

While the initiative specifically targets intellectual property protection in the greeting card industry, the AI infrastructure could potentially expand to other product categories. The development demonstrates how e-commerce platforms are increasingly turning to blockchain-adjacent technologies to solve complex marketplace challenges.
